- Is the proposition realistic?
- What is the background and experience of the person(s) making the proposal?
- Are they qualified in their field?
- Have they prepared a viable business plan?
- Have they researched the potential of their proposal?
First and foremost we are looking at the people behind the proposal, how committed they are to it and what
funds they have invested in the project so far. There is a great deal of difference between an idea on paper
and one that has actually been partially tested in the market place and showing the right potential.
What assumptions have been made in the proposal in respect of costs and revenues? Is it a prudent proposal
and what are its possible risks? What is the intended and potential market for the proposal and what will
be its competition? If it is a new product or service, how is the idea protected and what are the factors
that will bring about its success?
